About Me
I began my holistic health journey in 2007, when I was pregnant with my first child. I had always been interested in health but knowing that I would be fully responsible for my daughter’s health and well-being sent me on a slightly different path.
I first focused on removing chemicals from our home and keeping pesticides out of our yard. I then switched to a primarily organic diet. As genetically modified foods became prevalent, I was even more conscious about buying organic, non-processed foods.
Several years ago, I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s (autoimmune disease that attacks the thyroid). I was told that there was no cause or treatment, it was irreversible and that my antibody levels would continue to increase until eventually my thyroid would die. I would be on thyroid medication the rest of my life.
Getting my biometric screenings every year, the results were always the same. They would indicate that my cholesterol was high, I needed to clean up my diet, and cut out salt. I had already cut out table salt several years ago and used only real salt in my food. My diet was fairly clean, so I was at a loss as to what to do.
I also experienced with my weight since my mid-20s. The only way I could lose weight was to starve myself and that would only be short-term.
After my third child, I began having issues with my blood sugar and my monthly cycle. I would feel weak throughout the day if I didn’t eat, and my periods would last upwards of 2 weeks.
In a search to find support for a friend of mine that was having health issues I came across a local functional medicine clinic, and I signed up. They did a full blood panel and determined that my liver did not detox properly on its own. By adding in regular detoxing, liver and digestive support, and making a few changes to my diet, I was able to get my cholesterol in the normal range, clear my blood sugar and menstrual issues, and I no longer have thyroid antibodies. My weight issues had improved some as well.
I felt like I was on the right path to healing, but still didn’t feel like I’d addressed every area that needed attention. So, I continued researching, learning and trying to improve my well-being. I began going to a local chiropractor and felt significant improvements overall.
I attended The Institute for Integrative Nutrition from July 2018 to July 2019 and became a certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. Not only did I learn a lot about nutrition, but I also learned the importance of emotions, energy, meditation, and the impact these areas have on our health.
I then found a local Reiki practitioner and went in for a session. It was an amazing experience and I was hooked! I signed up and attended Reiki I and II, Advanced Reiki, and Reiki Master training. I knew that this was something I needed to share with others.
Around the same time, I was introduced to ThetaHealing®, a meditation technique that supports physical and emotional well-being. I attended Basic and Advanced DNA in 2019.
I also attended courses in Nutrition Response Testing, which allows me to find the root cause of health issues and identify holistic approaches to improving health.
I went back for a follow-up blood panel after a few months of energy healing and meditation work, and the positive changes in my blood work were the most drastic that they had ever been. These results proved to me that the holistic approach was the right one for me and that I needed to share it with others. My goal is to learn of your personal journey and help you find the best practices and techniques to overall health and wellness.
